The Basics of Accessibility

Good design has to accessible to everyone, or we’ve failed as designers. And there is also a big business case to be made. Watch to find out how.

Interview #006 – Colleen Gratzer

On Wednesday 13 February at 17.30 GMT+1 Colleen Gratzer was with us for a live interview on The Basics of Accessibility.

Colleen is an accessibility expert and consultant, and she’ll prove to us how essential it is to make sure that the sites we design should always respond to basic accessibility requirements. And not just because the law imposes it.

This one is a real must-watch – good design has to accessible to everyone, or we’ve failed as designers. There is also a big business case to be made for accessibility: if your sites are not accessible, you’re cutting out many more people than you think – and leaving money on the table.

And besides – would’t you rather just be a GOOD person? Be inclusive in your designs – always.

Colleen has an accessibility course coming up.

Equally left- and right-brained, Colleen Gratzer is an award-winning designer in the Washington, DC, area with more than 20 years of experience in branding, print, and web design and development.
